About Botfolio
Botfolio was built around a simple idea: robotics teams should be able to learn from each other without having to dig through old Discord threads, match videos, social posts, or scattered CAD files.
There are a lot of great ideas in the robotics community. The problem is finding them when you actually need them.
Botfolio gives teams a place to share designs, explain how they work, and make them easier for others to discover.
Botfolio is an independent educational platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by FIRST®, FIRST Tech Challenge®, VEX Robotics®, or any other robotics competition organization referenced on this site.
Built for the Robotics Community
Upload a CAD model or photo, choose the view that shows it best, and tell people what the mechanism does.
Other teams can browse designs, search by tags, compare different approaches, and use what they find as inspiration for their own work.
The goal is not to tell teams how to build a robot. It is to make it easier to see how other people solved similar problems.
Tags That Grow With the Community
Robotics changes quickly, and teams constantly come up with new mechanisms, names, and ideas.
Botfolio lets the community suggest and vote on tags so the way designs are organized can grow naturally instead of being limited to a fixed list.
That makes it easier to find what people are actually building.
AI-Assisted Feedback
Botfolio also offers optional AI-assisted design feedback.
The AI can review available design information, rendered views, and descriptions to point out strengths, potential concerns, and ideas worth considering.
It is meant to be another perspective, not an answer key. AI feedback can be wrong and should never replace testing, engineering judgment, mentor guidance, safety review, or official competition rules.
Share What You've Learned
Some of the best robotics ideas come from seeing how another team approached the same problem differently.
Share the mechanism that worked. Show the idea that took a few versions to get right. Help another team find a better starting point.
